The First Day of Spring is on the Horizon!

On my morning walk I noticed new buds on the trees, and the green of the grass and leaves were brighter.   The temperature was still mild, but the signs and hope of spring were everywhere.  March marks the turn from winter into spring.

March is also connected to St Patrick’s Day, it brings to mind shamrocks, luck of the Irish and parades.  Somehow, when I think of spring, overflowing with hope of new beginnings, I can’t help but be reminded of the blessings of God.

While luck may be good or bad, God’s blessings are always filled with His love.  With my Irish heritage I enjoy celebrating St Patrick’s Day, with that said, I challenge you to join me in reflecting on God’s blessings.  It might be fun, during the month of March, to keep a journal of each blessing that touches your life.  I believe we will be amazed how His love surrounds us every day.

                       A NEW DAY

This is the beginning of a new day
God has given me this day to use as I will
I can waste it or use it for good
What I do today is very important because
I am exchanging a day of my life for it

When tomorrow comes this day will be gone
forever, leaving in its place what
I have traded for it.  I want it to be gain...
not loss.  Good...not evil.  Success...not failure,
in order that I shall nor forget the price I paid
for  it.

I breathe in the beauty of each stroke of His brush...that is so vibrantly displayed. The blossoms on the trees, the new little faces peaking out, as the buds open to the sun.  Knowing the price our Savior paid, allowing us to bask in the rays of His mercy and His grace, knowing His love embraces each new day.      ~Rita Garcia
